This is Zen!
The Pool Terrace
Including Kitchen/Diner
and Salon
The Gite was tastefully designed and constructed in 2004, in the enclosed gardens of an ancient farmhouse on the Charente/Dordogne border. It has been built in two sections and comprises a Double Bedroom with Ensuite Shower Room. A covered Terrace, complete with washing lines separates this section from the fully-equipped Kitchen/Diner and adjoining Salon. All this looks out onto an open Terrace with a 12x6m outdoor Pool and a decorative pond with wooden bridge. Separate lawns are shaded by a Walnut tree. The Property includes four acres of land with a lake. Due to the peace and tranquility, it was named "Zen". No other word describes it more aptly.

The Main House
Should your party include guests, for an extra charge, I can accommodate them in the main house.
"The Website is lovely but nothing compares with seeing it for real". K. T., Scotland
The Main House - Bed and Breakfast/Full or Half Board
This is the Bedroom which overlooks the driveway and Terrace, as shown in the image above. Why not come and visit the region during the Winter? The house is cosy - and so is the welcome.
The Main House - Reception Room
If you stay in the main house, I can offer you this comfortable room, where you can watch TV or relax and unwind.
Everything we were looking for in a Gite holiday for our family - and more!! Kathy, Phillipe, Alice and Victoria, Paris
Zen La Chaussade - The Land
Attached to the Property are four acres of land and a lake - not to mention the paddock with our pet Pygmy goats and Bantam hens - the tranquility of the French countryside can be enjoyed to its full, by taking a stroll across the meadows. Binoculars are provided for twitchers!
"Peaceful and quiet place to retreat to. A perfect place from which to explore the beautiful countryside". A & G, UK
A Typical Evening in June
This picture shows the main road leading to Villebois-Lavalette. A solitary car wends its way to Villebois. This is what I call a traffic jam!!!!
In the Charente, no-one's in a rush ...
When you arrive in the Charente, you will find that time has stood still. We don't bother with watches ... we use Calendars!!!!
