Your Kitchen

When you arrive at Zen La Chaussade, you will find a fully equipped kitchen for your every need. The fridge and cupboards will be stocked up with all sorts of supplies, along with fresh bread, croissants and wine, so that you may enjoy your first couple of days without having to go shopping.

Your Salon

Adjoining the kitchen is a comfortable room with plenty of seating, Sky TV, DVD, Video, CD and Radio, along with board games, pool games and binoculars for bird-twitchers.

The Gite was tastefully designed and constructed in 2004, in the enclosed gardens of an ancient farmhouse on the Charente/Dordogne border. It has been built in two sections and comprises a Double Bedroom with Ensuite Shower Room. A covered Terrace, complete with washing lines separates this section from the fully-equipped Kitchen/Diner and adjoining Salon. All this looks out onto an open Terrace with a 12x6m outdoor Pool and a decorative pond with wooden bridge. Separate lawns are shaded by a Walnut tree. The Property includes almost three acres of land with a paddock and a stocked trout lake. Due to the peace and tranquility, it was named "Zen". No other word describes it more aptly.

The Gardens

Zen La Chaussade includes its own private gardens. Here is the little Peach Tree Garden attached to the Gite. There are apple, cherry, pear, peach, nectarine, walnut and hazelnut trees on the land, including raspberries and grapevines.

The Main House

Should your party include guests, for an extra charge, I can accommodate them in the main house, where I provide Bed and Breakfast, Half or Full Board.

This is the Bedroom which overlooks the driveway and Terrace, as shown in the image above. Why not come and visit the region during the Winter? The house is cosy - and so is the welcome.

Zen La Chaussade - The Land

Attached to the Property are two pretty meadows and a lake - not to mention the paddock with my pet Pygmy goats, ducks and Bantam hens - the tranquility of the French countryside can be enjoyed to its full, by taking a stroll across the land. Binoculars are provided for twitchers!

How to Get Here

We are easily accessible by means of Bergerac, Bordeaux and Limoges Airports. Alternatively, should you wish to hire a car, speak to me and I'll arrange it for you, making sure you are collected at any of the Airports or Angouleme Railway Station.
